Happy Valentine Daytona 500

Can you say the best day ever for Mommy! Spending the day with Aidan, Daddy and watching the Daytona 500! We watched what seemed like the longest All-American race in history, played at the park, made dinner and played all day! You threw quite a bit of tantrums, Daddy and I just look at each other as if to say, who's this cutie making so much noise and what do we do!!! Aidan, you're the most lovable little boy and I treasure every moment with you....even the ones when you're kicking and crying. You are my favorite Valentine! Love you lots.

January 2010

We had a busy January. Aidan had a few very important “firsts”
Jan. 2nd Santa Barbara Zoo

Jan. 9th Haircut

Jan. 10th Walked!!!!!!!

Jan. 18th Big Boy Car Seat

Jan 23rd Mommy & Daddy took Aidan to the shoe store where we measured his feet(4.5) and bought him Velcro tennis that light up. He wore his new shoes out of the store.

Jan. 31st Ate hog dog pieces with Daddy

Aidan is on the move constantly. About twenty days ago, we watched him as he took those first wobbly steps. We had to help him back up when he fell which at first was constantly. It didn’t take long for him to learn to stand up on his own, gain more control of his balance and now he just takes off. Just this last week, I let him take a walk down our alley way before going to Grandma/Grampy’s. He walks all the way to the end and back. I take him out of his big boy car seat and he walks into Grandma and Grampy’s house every morning. It’s amazing how fast he learns. It’s a complete 360 in just a matter of weeks; speaking of 360, Aidan likes to spin in circles thanks to Daddy and Grampy’s encouragement!

I’ve walked Aidan to the park so many times but last week was the first time I could actually let him out to play. He ran all over the place! I loved it! I’m not sure who had more fun….Aidan or me! He loves to be pulled in his wagon!

He babbles a lot and is able to say fish, yes, bear, bye-bye, he tries to say bath and mimic other words we say. He loves his Graduates Cheese Puffs! He drinks milk, very well I’d like to add, from his straw cup. He still eats baby food, oatmeal, rice cereal, grains and yogurt. We’ve cut way back on the juice since he mastered drinking milk. We bought him a toothbrush which we are struggling with every night. He has “training toothpaste” which does not have fluoride. He throws a fit but we forge on!

Aidan waves bye-bye, can blow a kiss and will sit on the couch in between Mommy and Daddy for about 15 minutes while we watch Backyardigans. He scrunches his nose and eyes shut, we think he knows he’s being funny.

On the weekends, he will usually take a 2 hour nap which is significant improvement from the 20-30 min naps. When I say it’s “night-night’ time, he lays his head on my shoulder. I love playing with him but also cherish the cuddle time I have with him at bedtime.
