Weekend Update

So last night, my girlfriends Caitlan and Courtney came over to our house for pizza. I had so much fun playing, coloring and watching the movie "Despicable Me" with them. Then today, Daddy and I went over to their house because they were having a yard sale and I got to play with them a whole lot more. Caitlan acts like a big sister and is always looking out for me....just at lunch today, I dropped a toy and it hit me in the face but Caitlan was watching me and told Mommy that is missed my nose. Caitlan is awesome and is going to be an excellent baby-sitter once she's old enough! Courtney picked me up and put me on the swing and then pushed me......she rocks! I love playing and being around both of them, they are nice friends!

Gigi was at Grandma and Grampy's house so after my nap today, I got to go see her. I shook her hand and blew her a bunch of kisses. I say her name really well. I had a lot of fun having dinner with Gigi, Grandma & Grampy.

Tomorrow, Mommy and I are going to see Grandpa and Grandma. I really miss them and am super excited to go visit. Check out this picture.....Grandpa is working on my bike and getting it ready for my visit tomorrow!

27 months

Aidan turned 27 months old last week. We've had a pretty busy month. A month ago we went and saw two tall ships docked in the Ventura Harbor. We got to climb aboard each one and look around. The next day we drove to Frazier Park to play in the snow. Let's just say it didn't go too well. Aidan wanted nothing to do with the snow and cried the entire 15 minutes we were out there. Mommy and Daddy built a snowman and made a big effort but the little man just did NOT like it. The last two weekends were just good old fun.....used our SB Zoo passes one last time before it expired (thanks so much Grandma and Grandpa....we got so much use out of those passes and it's one of ours and Aidan's favorite thing to do...so we renewed!), played a lot at the park and visited the model train depot in Simi.

Yesterday, Aidan moved up to the sixth and final level at Gymboree. Today, Grandma took Aidan for his first art class at Gymboree and Grandma said he did good. Grandma rocks by the way, she really is just the best and we all love her so much. Daddy took him to get a much needed hair cut today as well. He hated it and screamed the entire time =-(

Aidan's new words are papa, eat, cookie, please, hi Mom, hi Dad, green light (this one's hard to make out) and he's attempting "love you". Daddy was taking him to the park and they passed a motorcycle and without any questions or prompting, Aidan blurted out papa, which was a first and showed us he understands that connection. So Grandpa, we need to come visit so Aidan can see your Harley!

We got him a new Thomas the Train toy box last Saturday and he loves it. After a mini-meltdown, both by Mommy and Aidan last week, the screaming is much, MUCH better this week. It just goes to show how much he's learning and developing each day.

2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days

Yep....that's how old I am today! I've accomplished quite a bit today. All new words today.....I started this morning by saying "hand". Then while playing with Grandma & Grampy, I said moo, when asked what a cow says and then tonight right before bed, I said Cyn-si (for Aunt Cyndi). I am rockin with my new vocabulary.
My brain must be spinning because I had to have a time-out at Gymboree (of all places) because I wouldn't stop screaming (screeching) despite my Mommy's multiple requests. Then, when we got home, I had a screaming meltdown and even though Mommy and Daddy ignored me, I got their attention by throwing something so I got yet another timeout but during this timeout, I hit Mommy's face, not just once, but twice.....so to make a long story short, my timeout last FOREVER!

But.....five minutes later, I was standing on the step-stool helping/watching Mommy and Daddy get dinner ready. We ate dinner, colored, had a bath and played for a bit before Daddy read me two stories. I'm pretty tired so night night.

Happy 94th Gigi!

Happy 94th birthday Gigi! I had so much fun tonight at your party! I really have fun getting to see you and all the family. Thanks for inviting me to your party and thanks very much Aunt Gerry and Uncle Bob for letting me drive my firetruck all around your house.....Aunt Gerry is especially patient because I kept zooming through the kitchen while she was cooking (a very delicious meal from what I heard from Mommy, Daddy, Grandma & Grampy) and cleaning up after dinner. My cousins Nina and Max are totally cool and I got use to Cloe the dog. The minute I got to Aunt Gerry/Uncle Bob's house, I looked for Uncle Bob and said his name about five times.

I said Gigi for the first time on the drive over to the party....which at two years old is my birthday present to you! Love you lots!

Aquarium Day

We took Aidan to the Long Beach Aquarium today. As we started our drive this morning, Aidan saw something from the backseat and pointed and said airplane!

Once we got to the aquarium, Tim and I had a great time watching his face light up when he saw all the fish. He's just the sweetest little guy. After a little over two hours of walking, he got a little grumpy so we put him in the stroller, gave him a snack and continued through the exhibits. I asked Aidan if he was almost ready for lunch and if ham sounded good and he responded by saying ham for the first time. Two more new words....it's just so exciting. Since he was 2 months old and everyday since, I go to work thinking about what I'm going to miss that day. This three day weekend was really great for me and Tim and Aidan! I love spending time with Aidan and he's learning and doing so many new things that I really just don't want to miss a moment. I know that he's in the best hands and how much he loves going to Grandma and Grampy's house. When we got home today, Aidan tried really hard to say Grandma and Grampy. He has his own sounds for them and that's all that really matters. He loves his Grandma and Grampy and I know he can't wait to see them tomorrow because his face lit up during dinner tonight when we talked about tomorrow's plans.

My First Amtrak Train Ride

I took my first train ride yesterday on an Amtrak train. We left from Simi Valley and rode 22 minutes to Camarillo where Daddy picked us up! I really liked it! For the rest of the day, I said choo-choo even more times than usual! We spent the rest of the rainy day inside watching Toy Story 3 which I sat still for almost an hour watching. We spent a lot of time having fun playing indoors.

Happy New Year 2011!

The first day of 2011 was absolutely awesome! We all slept in until about 8:45 this morning. We played all morning, went to the park, had some lunch and then all had naps for almost two hours! Talk about a lazy day....we don't seem to have too many of those but we loved it.

Since our naps lasted until almost 5PM, we had dinner and then Aidan stayed up until 9PM watching Despicable Me. He sat on the couch, in between Mommy and Daddy for a little over an hour. He was eating his vitamins, along with fruit snacks and raisins and touched each of us and we smiled and said....ohhhh sticky and Aidan repeats...sticky! So cute. Just in the last three days, Aidan has said Bob (for Uncle Bob), spoon, yippee and time tunnel but it really sounds like ahhhh baaaa-balllllll or something to the tune. He is truly amazing us with his ability to get new sounds out. Tonight, Tim said "Aidan.....can you say TV?" and he said T. He's trying and succeeding at getting those new words out.

Yesterday, Daddy and Aidan were throwing around this inflatable toy we got with the Despicable Me movie and Aidan couldn't stop smiling and laughing. The two of them had fun. Today, Aidan takes Dadddy's hand (while carrying the same toy) and leads him upstairs to the same spot where they played yesterday. These are the types of moments that are so special and we just don't ever want to forget or take for granted.

He is so much fun and we love spending time with him. He loves yelling right now when he gets mad but we're working through that! He helps with almost every part of our daily routines, either getting his own spoon and fork out of the kitchen drawer and putting it on the table to throwing his dirty clothes in the hamper. He's just an amazing little guy.

I just bought him his first Amtrak ticket. Tomorrow, Daddy is taking us to the Simi station and Aidan and Mommy will take a 22 minute train ride to Camarillo where Daddy will pick us up. I am so excited and just know (and hope) that Aidan is going to love it!

Happy 2011!
